I recently did an online session and I like to end mine with a white light meditation. It gives me a chance to send concentrated reiki to my client over distance. I started the meditation as I normally do and when I got to the crown of her head I heard this message.
“No. You’re going to go to the front of her body and have her start with her belly. And it’ll be gold light, not white.”
I had this moment where I thought, what the fuck. That’s not how I do this. That’s weird. Then I heard it again, with a final “Trust me”. I was like, ok. Here goes.
Something really powerful happened. I started talking through the golden light and I allowed whatever needed to come up to come up. I felt this powerful surge moving through me and through my client, after which she shared that she actually had tears in her eyes post meditation. I was pretty mind blown if I’m being honest. I had no script, no plan, no nada. I just went with it.
The point of me sharing this is, it’s certainly not the first time I’ve had an opporentiuty by to be led by something greater than me. It was a beautiful opportunity for me to let go and allow it to happen. There have been many times in my normal day to day life where I’ve been given a chance to give up control and I will honestly say I have a hard time doing that. It brings up old fears from my past about letting go of control and making it mean that I am helpless and can be preyed upon.
This experience allowed me to not only give up control, but to surrender completely. It allowed me to be what another person needed to help them heal.
I feel we all should practice letting go of control and allow your inner guide to lead. To listen to what your intuition is asking of you. There’s beauty in it, giving over to the practice of trust. Allowing for something greater to guide you. If you’re not sure where to begin, ask. Seriously. You might need to get still and quiet. If you’re willing to try, to ask, to be led, magical things will happen.
